David Babington Director of Veterinary Affairs of the National Organisation of Beaters and Pickers Up
I qualified from the Royal Veterinary College, University of London in 1986.
I then worked as an associate veterinary surgeon, firstly in a Hampshire mixed practice and then in a companion animal practice in London, before moving to Swindon to establish my own veterinary practice together with my wife Alison in 1990.
I am currently a Partner in the Arrow Veterinary Centre, Swindon and also Managing Director of Improve International Ltd, an educational service company that I helped establish in 1998. Improve International is now the largest provider of postgraduate training for the veterinary profession in Europe.
I have pursued both fishing and shooting interests for over 25 years and am the Shoot Captain for a syndicated pheasant shoot near Marlborough, Wiltshire. I work my own black Labrador, ‘Teal’ and enjoy introducing my two sons to the pleasures of country sports and conservation issues.
I am actively looking forward to advising the National Organisation of Beaters and Pickers Up on all matters relating to the welfare and veterinary care of both gundogs and indeed all animals involved in the shooting world.
